I think we communicate more but 20 years ago when we did talk it was about things we needed to talk about. Now it is more about anything you can talk about. We communicate as effectively as we did. We are still able to get our point across but now just more.
I think we communicate more now than we did 20 years ago because we talk more freely about world issues then before. There are open discussions and debates about homosexuality that weren't mentioned back then because it was still slightly taboo. I think the world (or at least the U.S) is improving because the more things are talked about they are easier to work out. If sex was talked about more in school then there would be so many less girls getting prego. A lot of things would be better if they were talked about more, but at least communication is better now then what it was.
We talk more over phones and computers. We've lost a lot of face-to-face communication. A lot of the emails and text messages can be misunderstood too. Bad things can result from this.
